CPO for the Private Seller (05/10/13)
Traditionally, when we think of CPO (Certified Pre-Owned), we think of auto dealers. We think of dealers because they are the ones who have historically been involved in certifying used cars and trucks. Not just any car dealer however. Only new car franchise dealers have had an opportunity to sell vehicles that have been certified using a manufacturer-sponsored program.
That is, until now. Certified.org has been involved in the dealer CPO industry as a standards organization, and has been deeply committed to promoting the certified vehicle industry. It now has a program that allows the private seller to certify vehicles. That’s right, a private seller can now sell their vehicle as certified through certified.org.
The certification program includes a 3-month, 3,000-mile limited warranty that is backed by an “A” rated underwriter, a vehicle history report, and a customized marketing template and online advertising package that is designed to get your vehicle sold fast and for full value. In order to qualify, the vehicle must be less than 15 years old, have fewer than 150,000 miles, and have a clean title. Vehicles that are eligible can be certified through the certified.org website. When your vehicle sells, your buyer can call our warranty activation line and get coverage from day one.
